About the role

Rêve is seeking a high potential individual to join us as a Service Designer. In this position, you will work directly with our clients to design new-to-the-world services and experiences or improve ones that already exist. You will be out in the field gaining insights through working directly with consumers; then leveraging your design and technology skills to prototype and bring new concepts to life. You will work as an essential member of our agile teams alongside visual and business strategists. This role is based in our Minneapolis headquarters but may require travel up to 5% of the year. Your team leader will be the Associate Director, Service Design.

What you will be doing:

30% of the role is about creating a deep understanding of our customers and their customers’ needs which include:

  • Conducting primary qualitative research through traditional and cutting-edge methods with our virtual reality partner Roomera
  • Executing quantitative research to validate findings at scale
  • Producing compelling research synthesis including key deliverables like personas, journey maps, and blueprints

30% of the role is about developing and testing new concepts which include:

  • Facilitating concept development with client teams
  • Applying behavior design methods to generate richer concepts
  • Creating prototypes through wireframes, interactive digital prototypes, service staging, and other analog mediums
  • Develop testing strategies and getting customer feedback

20% of the role requires being a great storyteller which includes:

  • Designing compelling presentations, videos, and experiences that inform, inspire, and direct clients
  • Sharing those stories in small group settings

The last 20% is about helping our service design practice grow through:

  • Following technology to understand key trends, strategies and experiences that drive customer engagement
  • Scaling our methodology by documenting fundamental processes and tools
  • Being a brand ambassador by being an active part of the local design community

Qualifications

  • Living our corporate values of empathy, ingenuity, authenticity, achievement, collaboration
  • Ability to navigate complexity and ambiguity
  • Passion and proven ability to be in a client facing role
  • Having a BS/BA with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in corporate or agency roles like Research, Product Design, Service Design, User Experience, Innovation
  • Fluency in Human Centered Design, Adobe Creative Suite, and prototyping software platforms
